Its 2022 and SOUND is auditioning! We’re looking to expand and welcome all voice parts (especially new basses and tenors) to audition. If you fit the bill or know someone who does, please pass on the information below – we can’t wait to hear some new voices.
SOUND is a talented group of singers brought together by one obsession: the music. Professional without being pretentious, fun without missing a beat, SOUND is on a mission to bring highly polished a cappella pop, funk, soul and folk to London and beyond.
We can’t believe we started nearly 10 years ago in 2013! Since then we’ve performed on tour with the stars of Strictly Come Dancing, brought the house down at The Southbank Centre, supported the The Swingles and appeared with BBC’s The Naked Choir winners The Sons Of Pitches. We’ve also appeared at some of the UK’s biggest vocal music events, including Voices Now at The Roundhouse and London A Cappella Festival.
The last 2 years have been tough for choirs, but it has only made us more determined to power into our 10th year, and we have some big ideas. If challenging music, a friendly community, crowd-pleasing songs, fun shows and experiments with emerging music are your thing, we want to hear what you have to offer!
We are looking particularly for tenors, basses and beatboxers, and are also very keen to collaborate with arrangers and composers. Sight reading skills not required as long as you can learn by ear quickly. Our FAQs is on our Join page. We’re a friendly community and we all contribute our time or skills where we can, whether its designing posters, helping out with social media or setting out chairs! If you have any experience that would be helpful please let us know when you audition.
Auditions are informal and are taking place before regular rehearsal slots on Tuesdays in Vauxhall, 6:30 – 7pm. If you’re successful you’ll be able to stay for rehearsal afterwards.
